Psychosocial burden on informal caregivers of patients with bipolar mood disorders

Popis:	The study found a significant burden on caregivers of bipolar mood disorder patients of the severe type, with and without psychotic features. In addition, caregivers of bipolar mood disorder patients of the severe type, with and without psychotic features, were found to have significant anxiety and depression. A strong negative correlation was found between burden on caregivers and the severity of the clinical condition of the patients on using the global assessment of function scale. Further, a strongpositive correlation was found between burden on caregivers and frequency of hospitalization, age of caregivers, severity of depression and anxiety of caregivers, and frequency of electroconvulsive therapy.
