Popis: | The analytical solution procedure and exact form solutions for the modes of a square metallic waveguide filled with effectively skew uniaxial media are presented. The presented solution is useful because it provides the equations needed to design integrated polarization converters. Those converters can alter a certain guided mode to another mode with orthogonally polarized field. This type of mode converters is essential for the design of dually polarized integrated millimeter wave components. The paper results are validated by numerical simulations as well as prototype measurements in the millimeter wave band. |
