Popis: | The effect of various organic additives on the structural characteristics of copper deposits electrowon at 161 A m−2 from aqueous chloride electrolyte using a diaphragm cell featuring electrolyte agitation by vibrating the cathode has been evaluated. The addition of 0.25–0.5 mg l−1 Jaguar C13 to the electrolyte improved the quality of the deposit whereas other additives such as glue and gelatin were less effective. The effects of CuCl concentration, the relative proportions of NaCl and HC1 and the presence of Na2SO2 in the electrolyte on the copper deposits have also been determined. |
