The article presents an experiential learning course design for a trauma informed undergraduate course. Students participate in weekly experiential learning labs learning a variety of resiliency-based practices. These resiliency-based practices are organized around the domains of relationships, responsibility (competency) and emotional regulation. The lab’s objective is not only to teach resiliency-based practices through modeling and experiential learning but also to strengthen students' resiliency. Preliminary data suggests that resiliency scores did significantly increase over the course of the semester. |
