In view of the characteristics of toothbrush-shape reservoir, highly deviated wells are proposed to increase the drilled pay zones to increase the control of reservoir. To further improve the drilling speed and reduce drilling costs of highly deviated well for toothbrush-shape reservoir, a series of drilling optimization designs have been carried out. Based on simulation, statistical analysis, and selection, by optimizing the wellbore configuration, BHA, drilling fluid properties and drilling parameters and drill bit selection, significant ROP increase and rig time reduction have been achieved. The field application shows that the drilling engineering design optimization of the highly deviated well proposed for the toothbrush-shape reservoir can greatly improve the ROP, shorten the rig time, and reduce the drilling cost, providing valuable references for drilling the similar reservoirs. |
