Popis: | As is known, the thicknesses of the metallic linings of high-pressure penstocks placed in concrete blocks are specified on the assumption that the lining fully carries the internal pressure. The investigation shows that the internal hydrostatic pressure is almost fully transferred to the concrete block and that significant tensile stresses arise in it which are practically independent of the thickness of the lining; this fact, resulting from the elasticity of the lining, is confirmed also in the literature [2–4]. |
