The Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) is highly suited for accurate measurement of large active antennas in an anechoic environment [1]. For large quiet zone (QZ) dimensions, the traditional CATR requires an exceedingly large anechoic chamber. In this paper, a new CATR system with compact dimensions is presented for the first time. Owing to the rolled edge reflector, custom shaped skirt, diagonal feeding and shorter focal length, the system dimensions have been significantly reduced. An example of such a system with cubic QZ of 4.8m in the frequency range 0.9-18GHz and fitting the chamber dimensions of 22m x 14.5m x 14.5m is presented. |
