Popis: The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) has a long history in videotape production. Beginning many years ago when videotapes first became available, they were used as an adjunct to courses in facial plastic surgery. John Dickinson recognized their potential value and began collecting these videotape recordings. Initially, they were all housed in Pittsburgh. As their value became recognized, individuals and course directors borrowed, rented, and bought these materials. In 1976, the AAFPRS wisely saw the potential in videotape programs and funded a new series of tapes titled "The San Diego Classics in Soft-Tissue and Reconstructive Surgery." These tapes were initiated with a soft-tissue series performed by Richard Webster, MD, and then went on to cover such topics as facelift surgery and blepharoplasty.
