Popis: The Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) evaluated a prototype Primary Electronics Assembly (PEA) for the NK 16 Underwater Breathing Apparatus (UBA) which can reduce the in-water decompression obligation by increasing the operating partial pressure of oxygen (PO(2) level from O.75 atmospheres absolute (ATA) to 1.3 ATA. Upon descent to a depth of 33 plus or minus 2.4 feet sea water (fsw) (1O plus or minus O.73 meters of seawater (msw)) the electronics switch from O.75 to 1.3 ATA PO(2) set point control that is maintained until the diver ascends above 12 (plus or minus 2) fsw (4 plus or minus O.6O msw), where the electronics switch back to the 0.75 ATA PO(2)set point mode.
