The following chapter will outline assessments of individuals with intellectual disabilities and psychopathological co-morbidities. The chapter will focus on the assessment of intellectual disability and mental health, both from a psychiatric and psychological viewpoint, covering specific psychiatric disorders, assessments of challenging behaviour and cognitive behaviour therapy treatments. Finally, psychological and psychiatric formulation approaches towards the conceptualization of this patient population will be highlighted. |
