Nanomaterial-incorporated nanofiltration membranes for organic solvent recovery

Popis: The applications of nanofiltration (NF) membranes are not limited to aqueous media, as the development and commercialization of solvent-resistant nanofiltration (SRNF) membranes are in high demand for applications in the oil refining and pharmaceutical industries. Over the last decade, SRNF membranes have emerged as promising candidates for a wide range of nonaqueous processes either in full-scale industrial processes or lab-scale studies. This chapter aims to review the recent developments in polymeric SRNF membranes incorporated with inorganic/organic nanomaterials for applications of organic solvents commonly used in industry. The roles of advanced nanomaterials in improving the performances of polymeric-based membranes made from different fabrication methods are compared and discussed.
