This study compared the evaporation process of pure water and distilled water in microchannels by the experimental method. The experimental results show that the evaporation process of the distilled water is unstable to compare with the pure water. At the same mass flow rate, the inlet temperature of 40° C and the outlet temperature around 105 40° C, the heat transfer rate for the evaporation of the pure water is higher than that obtained from the distilled water, which indicates that the average specific heat in the evaporation process of the pure water is higher than that obtained from the distilled water. Besides, the temperature profiles of the heat sinks and heaters were determined. The results of this study are very important in the design of microchannel heat exchangers. |
