Popis: IntroductionThe present study aims to investigate whether values of venous blood gas sampling can be used instead of arterial blood gas values in the evaluation of blood gas for the emergency service patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).MethodsPatients diagnosed COPD and identified to have acute exacerbation of COPD based on acute exacerbation of COPD criteria participated in the study. Data from arterial and venous samples were compared using Spearman and Pearson correlation and Bland-Altman analysis.ResultsNinety patients were included in this study. The results indicated statistically significant correlations between venous blood gas pH, pODiscussion and conclusionThe findings of the study suggest that some formulations can be used to estimate pH and pCO
