Popis: | The effect of melting temperature and time on the crystallization mechanism of various polypropylene samples has been investigated. It was found that during polypropylene melting two opposite processes take place. The first process consists of destroying the normal heterogenous nuclei, persisted above the melting point. The second process represents a formation of new heterogenous nuclei that cannot be destroyed in an additional melting process. The polypropylene samples could be divided in two groups according to the type of heterogenous nucleation predominating under usual melting conditions. The melting temperature has a more pronounced effect on the variation of the number of nuclei than does the melting time. |
