Popis: COVID-19 is a ferocious enemy to human life and was going to be a difficult challenge to every religion, government, and people. But it found the United States desperately vulnerable, in part because of built-in problems in the large and influential white fundamentalist-evangelical subculture and in its relation to the broader culture. While serious debates need to occur at the intersection of religion, ethics, and COVID-19, the big story here has been the sustained difficulty of white fundamentalists and evangelicals in dealing with COVID-19 on the terms required for the social good. This chapter focuses on that dilemma.
