The quality of life of seniors is an important element in the overall assessment of the quality of life of the city residents and its importance increases with the aging of the population. The conscious implementation of standards can provide the city with an opportunity to enrich its image. Potential benefits that can be derived from actions aimed at older residents are evidence of the importance of this issue. They also set out the direction for the development of communication with senior residents and the nature of the initiatives undertaken in this area. The purpose of the article is to present the principles of communication of the city’s self-government with residents – seniors, and the nature of activities aimed at activating the elderly. By presenting areas of public relations activities activating senior citizens - the article attempts to answer the following questions: 1. How can public relations build solutions developed in standards for senior-friendly cities, and do these activities determine the assessment of the city’s attributes? 2. What are public relations tasks in terms of communicating and activating senior citizens? The result is a preliminary diagnosis of the city’s public relations tasks in relation to residents – seniors who can respond to upcoming challenges |
