XOdorBin: A Technology for Quality of Life

Popis:	Humans live their lives very much depending on the environment. Humans modify the environment for their purposes and the benefits of ecosystem. In everyday routine, disposal items keep on escalating. However lack of concern towards waste container as a mediator of waste practices has indirectly affected human environment. This was the result of a survey that had been distributed to employees of several organizations in Malaysia. The survey yielded personas who were not satisfied with waste containers due to several weaknesses of the current waste container such as low level of tear resistant, short of lifespan, swarmed by small insects and does not detect trash flow. Therefore, this paper was written to conceptualize an innovated artifact based on spiritual design concept. For this artifact, we applied some hygienic features and ICT technology in a waste container called XOdorBin. This innovative product is hoped to promote spiritual element of harmony towards better quality of life.
