HYDROGEOCHEMICALLY ANOMALOUS AREAS IN THE ASKRIGG BLOCK OF THE NORTHERN PENNINE OREFIELD

Popis:	SUMMARY A regional hydrogeochemical reconnaissance survey of the southern part of the northern Pennine orefield (Askrigg Block) was undertaken with a sample density of one sample per two square kilometres. 370 water samples, each with 30 analytical determinations necessitated the use of various multivariate statistical interpretation techniques. After due consideration for pollution and possible contamination, it is concluded that in the Litton and Dent areas undiscovered mineral deposits may be present.
