Popis: The need for environmentally friendly manufacturing processes has given rise to significant research into environmentally sensitive chemistry, commonly referred to as "green chemistry". By and large, this has not yet translated into informative undergraduate experiments. This article describes a simple experiment that uses recyclable Magtrieve as the oxidant in a simple reaction sequence emphasizing the reciprocity of oxidation and reduction processes in organic synthesis.
