Popis:	John Hubbard spent his youth in Switzerland and was a Harvard undergraduate (BA, 1967). After graduate study in Paris (Doctorat d'Etat, 1973), he returned to Harvard as an assistant professor until 1976, and he has been at Cornell ever since. Regular stays in Europe enable him to continue a collaboration with A. Douady that dates to graduate school, while trying to make sure that his children become trilingual. His main mathematical interests are complex analysis and holomorphic dynamics. After using computer graphics in research, he began adapting them to teaching.
