The Řež reactor LVR-15 operating at 10 MW can serve as a further neutron source in Central Europe for some basic and applied research. During the year 1997 a pattern of cycles of three weeks, each followed by one week for maintenance and instrumentation development, has been established. Though this reactor is operating by the Nuclear Research Institute, plc. (NRI, plc.) on a commercial basis the noncommercial experiments in nuclear and solid-state physics, materials research and neutron activation analysis performed within the established Center for Fundamental and Applied Neutron Research (CFANR) are free. |
