Popis:	We present an analysis of a semi‐circulant preconditioner for a high‐order compact discretization of a two‐dimensional convection‐diffusion equation with grid‐aligned flow. We show that the eigenvalues of the preconditioned matrix lie in two intervals on the left and right side of unity.
