The Schwinger-Dyson equation for the gluon propagator in 2+1 and in 3+1 dimensions

Popis: The authors study the Schwinger-Dyson equation for the gluon propagator in Yang-Mills theories without quarks in 2+1 and in 3+1 dimensions using the gauge technique in the light cone gauge. In each case, there are two non-perturbative solutions. One of these behaves approximately as 1/p3 at low momenta in 2+1 dimensions and approximately as 1/p4 in 3+1 dimensions. The other implies that all the particles have an equal non-zero mass. In 3+1 dimensions, the authors also find a solution which behaves as 1/p2 at low momenta, in agreement with perturbation theory.
