Popis: | In this paper we extend the concept of perfect optical vortex to the vector case and investigate its focusing properties in the high numerical aperture regime. We show that simultaneous phase encoding of orthogonal components can be realized by means of a 4 f imaging system incorporating a phase only liquid-crystal spatial light modulator whose director axis is rotated 45° with respect to the horizontal axis. As an example of application, we demonstrate theoretically and experimentally that a ring-shaped field with inner radius of 0.15 λ can be obtained by focusing a radially polarized perfect vortex and a tight spot of 0.34 λ FWHM can be obtained by focusing an azimuthally polarized perfect vortex. |
