Popis: Digitalization is catching on more and more in one prominent area of mental health care: counseling. Online counseling can reach a number of clients who would not otherwise be reached, and it can provide psychosocial health care at long distance and in adverse circumstances, e.g. during insecure political situations or pandemic events. But digitalization comes with a number of risks that may turn these benefits into their contrary. This chapter applies an established ethical evaluation model, drawn from the health sciences, to the field of online counseling, sorts some of the ethical challenges that come along with digitalization, and draws attention to issues that need to be addressed.
