The effect of accelerated thermooxidative ageing on the change in the flammability of polyethylene cable materials containing chloroparaffin and antimony trioxide as flame retardants has been studied. The flammability is observed to increase due to chloroparaffin migration during ageing in contact with poly(vinyl chloride) containing dioctylphthalate as plasticizer. The parameters of chloroparaffin and plasticizer diffusion in polyethylene are determined. |
