Popis: Aim. To determine the likely effect of methadoxine and guar gum on indices damage andfunctional status of liver during the comorbid flow of NASH with obesity and OA.Materials and methods. 90 patients were examined and divided into three groups: group1 (n = 30) included patients suffering from OA grade II-III according to Kellgren andLawrence classification with normal body mass (BMI = 21-25 kg/m2), group 2 (n = 30) -patients with NASH and OB without OA (BMI > 30 kg/m2), group 3 (n = 30) - patientswith OA with NASH and OB (BMI more than 30 kg/m2). The control group consisted of 30age-matched practically healthy persons (PHP). The average age of patients was (62,3 ±5,7) years. Three groups of patients, randomized to age, sex, degree of obesity, andactivity of the cytolytic syndrome, were formed to determine the efficacy of the treatment.Results. The dynamics of the treatment confirmed the correction of pigment exchange andstrong detoxication properties of methadoxine and guar gum (significant decrease in thecontent of conjugated, direct and total bilirubin), their ability to eliminate hepatocytecytolysis syndrome (significant decrease in the activity of AST, ALT) and to improve theprotein synthesizing function (growth albumin content and total protein). The ability ofthe proposed therapy to eliminate the manifestations of mesenchymal-inflammatorysyndrome in NASH indicated the actual normalization of the content of globulin fractions,a significant decrease in the dynamics of treatment of 2- and -globulin. It should also beemphasized that the use of enterosorbent based on guar gum, in contrast to traditionaltherapy, had led to a decrease in the intensity of the cholestatic syndrome, which waspronounced in obese patients.Conclusion. Medicaments of methadoxine and guar gum possess membrane-stabilizingproperties, eliminate effectively manifestations of cytolysis, cholestasis, mesenchymalinflammatory syndrome, increase albumin-synthesis and detoxification functions of theliver in patients with NASH.
