Popis: In the past years, EUPHA has grown from a small organization to a large and influential public health association in Europe. This process of growth has been implemented slowly: The increase in activities is having an impact on the organization of EUPHA and the responsibilities of the different EUPHA bodies. Also, the constitution and by-laws of EUPHA no longer reflect the practical running of EUPHA. Under the leadership of the Committee of Past presidents, a proposal to reorganize EUPHA was elaborated. This proposal has been unanimously accepted by the EUPHA Governing Council on 11 October 2007. We take this opportunity to present you with the new structure of EUPHA. There will be two membership categories in the future. Regular members (National Public Health Associations) and associate members (individual members, institutional members and the old definition of associate members). The former Governing Council will be split into two bodies: the Members’ Forum and the Governing Board. The Members’ Forum is the most complete body of EUPHA. Its goal is the active information exchange and a platform for discussion between decisional and executive organs/persons in EUPHA. It is where our members (all members) can interact with all the executive bodies of EUPHA. The Governing Board is the decisional body of EUPHA and responsible for the management of EUPHA. The Governing Board will be smaller than the current Governing Council as only one representative per country will be included and only regular members can be represented.
