Popis: The temperature dependence of the reaction of methanol with hydroxyl radicals has been investigated. For temperatures from 300 to 1020 K, an Arrhenius expression. k ( T ) = (1.1 = 0.3) × 10 −11 exp[-(798 = 45) K/ T ] cm 3 molecule −1 s −1 , has been derived. The branching ratio between the CH 3 O radical and the total of (CH 3 O + CH 2 OH) was measured by two methods, mass spectrometry and LIF. At room temperature, the mass-spectrometric study gave 0.17 = 0.13, whereas the LIF method yielded 0.25 = 0.08.
