The thermal neutron capture cross-section and the resonance capture integral of 124Xe

Popis: The thermal neutron capture cross-section of 124 Xe, its resonance capture integral (from 0·5 eV to ∞) and its effective capture cross-section in a reflector position of the Ispra 1 reactor have been found to be 111 ± 11 barns, 3600 ± 500 barns and 135 ± 13 barns respectively. These values have been determined by irradiating natural Xenon and measuring the activity of 125 I, the decay product of 125 Xe.
