Popis: | During 1973 the Central Office of Scientific, Technical and Economic Information in Prague realized its first computer experiment with automated indexing. On the basis of an analysis of the texts of abstracts in Czech the algorithm produces indexing into the information retrieval language (IRL) with a special type of links and is based on the principle of the analysis of simultaneous presence of sets of words in the framework of individual sentences or in the framework of the whole text of an abstract. Computer programs are written in the FORTRAN language and after appropriate modifications are meant to be used universally in all automated information systems processing abstracts in Czech and, upon further revisions, also abstracts in Russian, English or German. The first experiment was realized on a set of 779 documentary records from the area of steam turbines prepared independently of our experiment by the branch information center Skoda at Pilsen as a basis material for processing by computer ICL 1905 using the IR system “ARAPS”. |
