Popis:	The equations of smoothed particle magnetohydrodynamics (SPMHD) are verified on a specific simple configuration of B and v fields. The verification yields a figure of merit which is then used to assess the overall accuracy of the method. The presence of a systematic error associated with the choice of the kernel and the means to reduce this error and improve the accuracy of the method are demonstrated and discussed.
