Popis: In this study, a virulent phage, designated SWEP2, which infects Arthrobacter sp. 5B strain was isolated from the black soil in Northeast China. The phage SWEP2 has a latent period of 80 min and the burst size of 45 PFU (test on MOI=0.1). Through genomic analyses, this 43,412 bp dsDNA phage SWEP2 was found to consist of 66 open reading frames (ORFs) and 1 tRNA gene. The SWEP2 is closely related to Arthrobacterphage Liebe (82.98% identity, 49% query coverage). Based on its phenotypic and genotypic characterization, the SWEP2 is a novel Arthrobacter phage.
