Popis:	The features of the formation, composition, structure and microhardness of boride layers on the surface of D2 die tool steel formed during electron beam processing in vacuum are considered. Formed layers have a heterogeneous structure, which combines solid and plastic components resulting in the fragility reduction of boride layer.
