The authors present information about archaeological research from 2014 year, made in an archaeological site with many cultural and chronological horizons from Lozova-On the Border with Vorniceni. The graves, identified belong to a local community; all deceased (adults and children) were buried according to the traditional Christian ritual: backwards, head stretched westward and legs outstretched, arms bent at the elbows, hands resting on the abdomen, chest or shoulders. Funerary inventory is poor, in some graves are only two or three pieces of clothing or jewelry being discovered: spheroidal buttons, head rings, a silver earring, glass pulp beads, pieces indicating that the cemetery was used in the period of XIV-XV century. This archaeological ensemble consisting of a settlement and a cemetery is located on the border between the current villages Vorniceni and Lozova in an area, where during the reign of Alexander the Good (Alexandru cel Bun), Săcăreni village is assumed to exist. |
