Popis: | There are different simulation methods for coreless Axial-Flux Permanent Magnet (AFPM) machines, but no general consent on the most efficient technique. The inherent three-dimensional (3D) geometry of axial-flux machines makes the reduction to a 2D analysis more difficult than for radial-flux machines. This paper discusses a 3D finite element method (FEM) to model coreless machines as compared to analytical and 2D FEM solutions and proposes a method to calculate eddy current losses in the windings. A small-scale three-phase coreless AFPM motor/generator has been designed andconstructed to validate the results. |
