| Popis: | After the House of Representatives elections in March 2021, the need for new political leadership is widely felt in The Netherlands. This article argues that in the current situation, where restoration of trust in politics is a priority, "Rhenish leadership" is needed. In this respect, Rhenish political leadership ensures comprehensible and transparent laws and regulations that can be enforced and controlled at low costs. This leadership builds trust of citizens and businesses in the government, in the hope of reciprocity so that the government can also trust its citizens and businesses. It organizes power and counterpower in checks and balances, avoiding conflict as much as possible. This Rhenish leadership adheres to long-term objectives to be able to tackle major social problems, and leaves the issues of the day above all the issues of the day. It respects the interests of the society as a whole and not just of its own political supporters and / or social partners. This leadership ensures that future generations can enjoy at least as much welfare as the own generation. |
