| Popis: | International audience; A time interval in the reference frame of nearby and distant galaxies is proportional to the distance between these galaxies and the Earth and is shorter if measured in Earth's time frame. In other words, when space expands (or stretches), time also proportionally expands (or "stretches") or, in the language of relativity, both dilate.
