Popis: Breast carcinoma's screening in Trieste's area detected 60 women with cancer (two of them with bilateral cisease) in 2008. Forty-eight cases were diagnosed only by FNA (C5), 12 by VAB/mammotome and two by Fine Needle biopsy after undeterminated cytology. Axillary lymph nodes US was performed in 62,9% (39) of cases. They had alle been diagnosed as malignant (C5) by rapid cytology during breast nodule aspiration. .... Our study outlines cyology's accuracy to define axillary nodes' status suggestin the possibility to extent US followed by aspiration cytology to all screening detected cases with U3/4 axillary nodes.
