The study aimed to assess the extent to which school-parent partnership in the Malamulele Northeast Circuit in the Limpopo province enhances effective teaching and learning of learners in primary schools. Literature shows that parents and schools remain key players in determining children’s education because parents are the primary, natural and first teachers of the child, while schools are responsible for the development of the academic growth of the child. The study employed a case study research design and a qualitative approach. Purposive sampling was used to select a sample comprising principals, teachers, and parents (SGB members). Data was collected through the interview technique and analysed qualitatively. The findings of the study revealed that the school-parent partnership in the area of study is as good as non-existent due to lack of training of the stakeholders, lack of commitment of stakeholders, time constraints and poor cooperation between school authorities and parents. The study, therefore, concluded that the school-parent partnership in the area of study does not enhance the effective teaching and learning of learners in primary schools under study. It is recommended that the department of education trains and supervises the stakeholders in formulating and implementing working and effective school-parent partnerships to enhance the teaching and learning of learners |
