SUMMARY The wooden sculptures representing St. Philippe and St. James on the high altar of the Parish church in Grobnik as well as the sculptures of St. Francis of Paula and St. Dominic in the church of the Holy Trinity are here being attributed to Paulus Riedl, a Pauline sculptor active in Istria and Croatian Littoral (Hrvatsko primorje) in the middle decades and the third quarter of the 18th century. Together with the sculptures St. Anne and St. Joachim on the altar of Our Lady of Rosary in the mentioned Parish church, they probably made part of a now lost altar that might have originated from one of the suppressed Pauline churches in the region. Among the preserved liturgical silverware a navicula of the Middle European origins, dating in the late 16th or early 17th century should be mentioned. There is also a chalice dating in the first half of the 17th century and originating from an Austrian goldsmith’ s workshop. The processional cross and hanging light donated by Ivan Gaus came from Venice and were made at the very beginning of the 18th century. The various hallmarks present on these objects confirm their origin and date of manufacturing.
