Popis: A change in the percentage of crystallinity of cellulose cotton material occurs due to the action of NaOH or KOH depending on the concentrations applied, which increases the reactivity of so treated materials. The paper observed the effect of parameters of leaching on 100% cotton fabric with the aim of activating the surface for more effective binding of the inclusion complexes β- cyclodextrin-essential oil. The obtained changes in physico-chemical properties after completion of pretreatment and binding of the β-CD-essential oil inclusion complex before and after the maintenance cycle, were investigated with the FTIR-ATR spectrometer. There are visible differences in the spectral ribbons of 100% cotton fabric and treated fabrics which indicates the presence of β-CD-essential oil complex on cotton fabric. In addition, the Ba- number according to AATCC TM 89-1998 was determined on all the treated samples to indicate the completeness of the reaction between cellulose and the treatments carried out. Also, the mechanical properties of the fabric were investigated before and after the treatment in accordance with ISO 13934-1, which clearly indicate that there was no major mechanical damage to cellulose cotton samples during pre-treatment and finishing.
