Popis: Exploitation of the critical parts in die casting moulds for radiators was observed for years and it was found that dominant wear mechanism was heat checking. After 1.2343 and 1.2367 grades, a vacuum remelted grade,  1.2343 with a lowered silicon content was used. At hardness of ca. 44 HRC, lifetime of the critical mould part significantly decreased, where heavy cracks occured. Notched impact energy and metallography of the mould part samples were analyzed.
