Jaw tracking devices are not widely used in everyday dental practice. Such devices are most often used in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of temporomandibular disorders, occlusal splint fabrication, occlusion analysis and extensive prosthodontic rehabilitations. The use of dental articulators in implant prosthodontic rehabilitation contributes to the accuracy and precision of a prosthodontic restoration. With the use of a device that gives us values for individualizing the dental articulator, it is to be expected to reduce or eliminate potential adjustment in the patient’s mouth. In this case, an ultrasound device Jaw Motion Analyser, from Zebris was used to register mandibular movements when making prosthodontic restoration on implants. The values obtained by measuring with this device served to individualize the dental articulator and accurately make prosthodontic restoration without the need for adjustment in the patient's mouth. |
