Popis: The paper demonstrates an experimental case of suspension bridge in Kirjalansalmi, Finland, where the real-time evaluation of the steel structure fatigue life was applied. The method uses pre-calculated stress ranges spectra in all joints from the finite element model calibrated to the results of test loads. Since the calculation runs directly on the computer collecting strain gauges measurements, the amount of data to be transported to the central database could be reduced significantly. The on-site computer is also configured as web-server and the fatigue life results are automatically updated on its web-page daily. However, the most computationally demanding part is the stress-ranges evaluation that iterates the whole history of strain measurement dating back to 2011.
