Users of Versatec electrostatic printers for scale plotting of treatment plans should perhaps be aware of the paper registration problems to be encountered after accumulated wear on the machines. Heat, humidity and even paper wrap are important (Goddard, 1984) in addition to differences in paper sample characteristics. Some batches are even slightly mis-wrapped, leading to critical changes in a well-used machine. Scaling and skewing are a recurrent problem in our own planning department. |
