Abstrakt: •The prevalence of fosfomycin-resistant E. coliisolates is still low in Portugal (0.5%).•Notably, 15% of fosfomycin-resistant isolates harbour a transferable fosAgene.•A high number of FosA-producing isolates co-produced an ESBL (67%).•Fosfomycin is still an effective empiric treatment for non-complicated urinary tract infections.
