Abstrakt: The prompt and vigorous immune response to xenogenic tissue remains a significant barrier to clinical xenotransplantation. Simultaneous blockade of the CD28 and CD40 costimulatory pathways has been shown to dramatically inhibit the immune response to alloantigen.
