The purpose of this article is to provide the speech-language pathologist with information regarding the assessment of pragmatic skills in children's language. The authors delineate the most frequently occurring problems in pragmatic functions of children's language. Necessary considerations involved in taking a language sample that will allow analysis of pragmatic parameters is given, and an analysis of a dialogue sample is included. |
