Abstrakt: Molecules with more than four atoms generally exhibit relatively complex vibration-rotation spectra at standard conditions. Often their single lines are not resolved and difficult to detect and investigate by high-resolution absorption spectroscopy. In this work, diode-laser spectroscopic experiments are presented which use the enclosive flow cooling technique for simplification of gas spectra. The fundamental spectral cooling effects on trifluoromethane are compared with theoretical expectations. A considerable reduction of line number density and high optical absorption efficiency were found. Enclosive flow cooling proved to be robust and easy to manage.
